"You don't need a silver fork to eat good food." - Paul Prudhomme
High Note Cafe and Tomato Pie Factory, Santucci's, Pierogie Kitchen, Chloe's BYOB, Tina's Tacos, DePaul's Table, and more are featured in this week's Philly Grub newsletter. Spring is in the air...
Happy Vernal Equinox! Now that Spring has arrived, there’s a lot to be excited about including some new openings and such on the horizon. There are lots of things to feel good about right now. Stay well, friends!
Francoluigi's to rebrand as High Note Cafe and Tomato Pie Factory
An eagle-eyed Twitter friend spotted this sign at Francoluigi’s announcing it will rebrand as High Note Cafe and Tomato Pie Factory and will be “coming soon.” According to the website, the revered Italian eatery located at 1549 South 13th Street in South Philadelphia will open in late 2021. I guess we’ll stay tuned for more info, but sounds promising. Can never have enough tomato pie, right?
Santucci’s to Open New Locations in Downingtown, PA and Wildwood, NJ
Popular Philadelphia square pizza restaurant Santucci’s with locations in South Philly, North Broad, Roxborough, Ocean City, and Ventnor announced via their Instagram they will open two new locations in Downingtown, PA and Wildwood, NJ. Roxborough’s Pierogie Kitchen Available in Montgomery County
Pierogie Kitchen of Roxborough can now be found at Ana’s Corner Store located at 3310 North Wales Road in East Norriton, PA. The deli will be carrying a variety of pierogies including a chocolate ganache-filled pierogi. Sounds good to me! Are you a fan of pierogies?
Chloe’s BYOB to Host Fundraiser for Stephen Ferguson
On March 13, Stephen Ferguson was hit by a car while riding his bike home from work and suffered a spinal cord injury. He has undergone several surgeries and is currently at Jefferson where he will have several more surgeries and a long recovery process. Unfortunately, he did not have insurance, so the family set up a GoFundMe and his friends at Chloe BYOB have put together a “party box” which will be sold on Sunday, March 21 to help raise funds for his medical expenses. Support if you can!

Ardmore, PA has a new fine-dining steakhouse to look forward to. DePaul’s Table, a partnership between Stove and Co. Restaurant Group and Anthony DePaul, will open sometime this spring at the former location of French brasserie The Bercy at 7 E. Lancaster Avenue. Restaurateur DePaul, formerly from The Chophouse in South Jersey, and Marc Forgione’s American Cut Steakhouse in Atlantic City, will bring a pedigree of industry insight and knowledge to this exciting new concept. Are you excited about this new steakhouse on the Main Line? What’s your favorite cut?
Waffles & Mochi Premieres on Netflix
Waffles & Mochi is a new culinary kids show on Netflix produced by Higher Ground, the new production company from Michelle and Barack Obama. Michelle appears in every episode with the Muppet-like stars. This educational food show is certainly targeting children, but there are a lot of reasons foodies should watch this feel-good show, too. Celebrity chefs such as Samin Nosrat and Jose Andres appear and impart a lot of good food knowledge. The main characters also travel around the world to learn about the origins of various foods, ingredients, and dishes. It is just TOO CUTE and I’m loving it. Are you watching Waffles & Mochi?
